Food in Grand Hotel Duomo
Restaurant/places to eat in Grand Hotel Duomo
Balcony/Terrace in Grand Hotel Duomo
Location is excellent, being on a largely pedestrianised street just a few minutes from the main tourist attraction, the leaning tower. This is a large hotel, and probably mainly a business destination (we were there at the weekend), but it has a very friendly and relaxed feel in spite of its size. The room was not very large, but large enough, and elegantly furnished with traditional furniture. The shower-room was most attractive with warm pink/pale apricot marble (or marble patterned tiling) throughout. Service and cleanliness are excellent. I had a stomach upset one night after eating some dubious fish stew in a nearby restaurant, and to my embarrassment got some mess on my sheet, but both sheets were changed immediately without comment. Top marks for excellent service. Breakfast was very good. The city of Pisa is an attractive historic destination, and there is plenty to see in the "Field of Miracles" of very ancient buildings (not just the tower, which I did not go up due to poor mobility). The Camposanto (cemetery) has amazing frescoes, once rated as one of the finest art works in Italy, but badly damaged by bombing in 1944. Some have been wholly or partly restored, and let us hope that all might be restored in future. The preliminary drawings (sinopie) survived and are well worth seeing. An excellent weekend destination and a good place for recovering from intensive art exhaustion between Rome and Florence.

Everything. 1. The location is great - right in the heart of Pisa, where there are restaurants, the Leaning Tower and Cathedral, souvenir shops. 2. The staff is welcoming and supportive. The cleaning ladies were extremely diligent. 3. The room is clean, the bathroom is quite big compared to other places I’ve been to. 4. They have a fascinating Kawai piano close to the reception where people could play and its sound is amazing! 5. You feel safe right in the middle of the city, whilst also being 20 minutes by feet to the train station, where you have Florence 1h away by train, Lucca 30 minutes away, Cinque Terre 2h away. It’s the best place to stay if you want to be nearby these tourist attractions without paying too much for a hotel. 6. The restaurant at the top of the hotel is really amazing by night, as you can sit and relax whilst having a view to the Leaning Tower and Cathedral.

The location of this hotel is excellent for the sights and more than we could have wished for in a short stay so everything was easily accessible . It is a 20 minute walk from the train station. Our room had a balcony , it was front facing , it was was spatious and we had a view of the leaning tower from the balcony . Hotel is 5 minutes walk from the historical sight and surrounded by excellent restaurants and a mini mart . What the hotel lacks in modern decor and facilities it makes up for in location, genuinely friendly helpful front desk staff . Breakfast was included and the buffet was plentiful with fresh food , the value for money is excellent . Lorenzo at the front desk was really helpful recommending eateries and sights to see and took time to mark maps, engage us in conversation on sights to see, excellent hospitality and very welcoming .

We recently had the pleasure of staying at Grand Hotel Duomo in Pisa. The location is simply unbeatable—just a short walk from the iconic Leaning Tower of Pisa and Duomo Square. Waking up to the charm of this historic city and being able to explore its treasures within minutes. The hotel staff were warm, welcoming, and incredibly helpful. From the moment we checked in, they ensured our stay was comfortable and enjoyable. Whether it was assistance with directions or arranging transportation, they went above and beyond to make our visit seamless. The rooftop terrace was a standout feature, offering breathtaking panoramic views of Pisa. If you're looking for a stay that places you right in the heart of Pisa with easy access to its most famous landmarks, Grand Hotel Duomo is a fantastic choice!

We loved this hotel! It is in an excellent location and view was incredible! A relatively busy part of Pisa but not too loud. The room was lovely, clean and the bed was very comfortable. Good air conditioning too! We particularly loved the rooftop bar, which had stunning views, lovely staff and delicious, reasonably priced drinks. When we arrived, we were a few hours early for check in. We were hoping to leave our luggage but the staff were very friendly and allowed us to access the room early. They were also very helpful when checking out, with a quick and easy system at the 24 hour reception
